Police reform committee to present performance reports next week

BANGKOK, 19 October 2017 (NNT) - The government-appointed police reform committee expects to present its performance report next week.

Gen. Boonsang Niampradit, the chairman of the National Reform Committee on Judicial Administration (police), said on Wednesday that all subcommittees have shared their initial summary of work with the main committee, and they have already completed around 80-90 percent of what they’ve been tasked to accomplish.

Gen. Boonsang said that the details of the progress of each subcommittee’s work will likely be ready for presentation next week although the committee needs to approve the plan, which will have to be presented to the Cabinet for approval as well.

He expects the government to adopt most suggestions from the committee as some may need to be adjusted to come into line with their policies.

Concerning the review of opinions related to the police reform, which have been collected from the public and related parties, Gen. Boonsang said that the committee stands ready to make use of any ideas that might prove useful and logical among the reform suggestions, especially those that the police and the public have agreed upon.

He is confident that the committee’s proposed plan will lead to an improvement in the effectiveness of the police force.

So they will now be better at collecting tea money????

What a convenient time to issue the report when the whole country will be in mourning. Probably hoping it can just be glossed over.

One A4 should be enough for the report.

What a load of BS, ALL THE POLICE ARE CORRUPT.

The higher the rank, the more corrupt.

To get promoted to a high rank requires a substantial amount of cash being put up.

There is only 1 way to reform the RTP is sack the lot of them and start again.

I cant say exactly where from but if an ex to one of the high up's can get 1 mil a mth what does that say

It will be interesting to see if the committee supports the practice of the RTP posting rewards out of treasury coffers for the capture of assorted villains and then collecting the rewards themselves (before any conviction) after having being given tip-offs from the public. e.g. the Erawan Shrine bombing.

What is it about Thai civil authorities like the RTP that they seem to enjoy making international fools of themselves?

Which is to serve out the committee's allotted time.

I assume the remaining 10-20% is for bathroom breaks and snacks.

"specially those that the police and the public have agreed upon. "

Public: "You'r corrupt"!

Police: "Yeah, yeah.  Shut up and hand me my tea money".

:saai:
