I would tell them Thais do call non Asians farang! even an Indian would be called a farang if he/she is caught in between it is not just white people. I am not white and not Indian and they call me farang for the first time two people see me. As for the advice I'm looking for I can see it with my own eyes in Thai people, many live on minim 300 baht daily income they always smile and spend their last penny, many even in debt.
