Motorcyclists killed in head-on crash in Ayutthaya

By The Nation

Two young men are dead after their motorcycles collided head-on on a flyover in Muang Ayutthaya on Thursday night.

Pol Capt Suchart Yoddamnone, deputy inspector at the district police station, said one of the bikers – Atthasit Thongnil, 27, an Ayutthaya Waterworks Authority electrician – had been driving against the traffic flow.

He ran into another motorcycle driven by Ayutthaya Technical College student Nanthawat Saengkham, 20, at 10pm in the Bangkok-bound lane of the Asia Highway at the Kilometre 24 marker. Both were killed.

Nanthawat’s friend Thanadol Pengpit, 21, told police five of them were returning home to Uthai district, each on his own motorcycle, when Nanthawat sped ahead.

The friends only caught up with him at the scene of the accident and found him already dead.

Terrible sentence, but so true!

Driving against the flow of traffic, 10 pm, probably no headlight or helmet on, accident waiting to happen really.

Stupid, stupid, stupid,

Oh well, never mind, there will be more tomorrow and the day after and the day after that....................................

They just never learn.

No doubt the driver of the "Against the flow" motorbike will be the one "At fault"  .   Had it been a car that he hit the car would have been  "At fault" .   Why is that.

thai's just love to ride/drive/cycle on the wrong side of the road. they just dont seem to understand how dangerous this is, and of course with an ineffective, lazy, unprofessional and corrupt police force unwilling or incapable of policing the roads the carnage will continue. next
