My Non-immigrant O visa based on marriage runs out Dec, 27. I will do the 1 yr extension at Promenada Chiang Mai immigration. My question is, Can I go there during the last 30  before the 15-day mark or does it have to be on Nov, 27 to be exactly 30 days. I would like to go on Dec 1st or Dec 4th, so that when I am approved the extension will start in January and the 30-day consideration stamp will roll over into Jan during the waiting peroid.

You can apply for the extension up to 30 days early.  There is no minimum number of days to do it. It can even be applied for on the last day.

The one year extension will start from December 27th if that is the day when your 90 day entry from the visa ends. It does not start at the end of the 30 days,

First time....so excuse me U Joe... if you have the same situation  Non I... O visa extension of stay based on marriage... and say you process this at one immigration office and you work in another province, do you have to continue the paperwork at the first place that you processed the  Non I  O visa...?   Or, now that one is working in another province, at the workplace is responsible  for providing visa assistance and processing, which would be the best place to process the visa for the new year?

I would imagine that at the new place, and new province,  the process starts all over..

as Non-I  B visa?  Thanks Joe

You need to apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage at the office where you are living. For the first extension they may do home visit.

If you change addresses to another office and apply there they may do a home visit again to confirm you are living together as husband and wife.

Thank you UbonJoe.That sucks, would have been a nice little cushion.

you could get a 60 day visit Thai wife extension first, that would push the annual extension renewal date to the end of February

for this non Imm O extension of stay,is it still 400,000 that need to be kept in bank not shorter than 2 months or 3 months?

For an extension of stay based upon marriage the 400k baht has to be in the bank for 2 months on the date you apply.

Hey I have a question for you that parallels to this, is there a certain day that I need to go to apply for this? Do I need to set up an appointment? Or I can just go Monday through Friday in the morning as usual like I used to do for a tourist visa?

No need for an appointment at immigration. You can do anyday they are open.

Down  here  in  Trang  it  is  3  month  or  longer . So  just  first  check  with  your  local  immigration  office ;  because  every  place  handels  it  differently  -  also  with  all  the  other  necessary  documents  !
