Illegal Africans in Thailand: "The more we get rid of them the more they come," say police

 

 

Channel 7 ran a video feature on the continuing problem of illegal immigrants coming into Thailand from Africa.

 

They entitled their feature as "The problem of people of color breaking the law in Thailand". 

 

They said that 200,000 illegals were on overstay in Thailand. But as quickly as the Thai authorities were rounding them up the more were coming.

 

The video showed a raid on an apartment block. It was the seventh time the "Black Eagle" response unit of the tourist police had been there in recent months.

 

Out of the 200,000 at least 80,000 were on overstay from  Nigeria and Somalia.

 

Many had no passports.

 

Some had only a UNCR signature on a piece of paper to show who they were.

 

Many were involved in illegal activity or drugs.

 

Others were in Thailand in transit to other countries for resettlement - but in many cases this took 3 years and with no way to support themselves many turned to crime.

 

Special Branch 191 chief Surachet Hakpan spoke of a continuing problem for his men.

 

While Channel 7 said it was a security issue of grave importance and a threat to tourism.

Forget the excuses, ADDRESS the problem.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority on here would not be able to overstay, especially for the lengths of time some of these do.

Africans will not be stopped from coming to thailand, this is just more racist "black bashing" by thai media/police.

 

Africa and thailand are linked much more than farang countries due to trade deals (ex. oil/rice/textiles/seafood). This leads to many visa loopholes.

 

Obviously there are also huge black market links as well, thailand being a big producer and africans the best smugglers .

 

African girls also popular in bkk amongst whites/arabs so they will keep smuggling humans as well lol.

What the hell goes on at Thai consulates in these countries for these to get in, and are they Swimming across the Mekong ? There are more and more of them in Bangkok, all over the place! Police should be instructed to ask to see passports of ANY seen in public

Nothing new, people wanting a better life, 

can not get accepted and  no means of support, 

and many opportunities to exploit Thailand and the tourists,

crime does pay for them, I see many in sukhumvit, who you know are up to no good,

many have tried to make small enquiring contact as I walk past, but I give no acknowledgement 

and keep walking. the police need all  the support they can get and should be able to remove all, who are illegal,

including the street bar hopping ladies from Africa,  on occasion Walking back to my hotel from terminal 21 it is unsettling having these ladies proposition you, (shudder at the thought)

 

 

I think canning will do wonder. but most people think its barbaric.

Do they arrive at the aiports with proof of return flights, visa and cash etc etc? Can't be bothered to google what  nationalities get VE entries or not but, instead of lanes that signify Thai or Foreign passports have a couple of lanes that signify nationalties from the country of origin.

Call me xenophobic if you want and I won't argue.

Are you perhaps suggesting Thai Immigration has a separate lane for "West African con-men, drug dealers, prostitutes and English teachers?"

Thanks Donald Trump. Stop ANY black person and ask them for their passport. I think that's called racial profiling.

Planting rice isn't half as lucrative as scamming, robbing, and selling drugs.

Thats cruel to say. In every nation there are immigrants both legal and illegal. Besides some are good and others not. Let some people not act like nationals of thier country do no jndulge in illegal deeds.
