Elephants stop, loot trucks on dark road

Chachoengsao _ The chief of Khao Ang Rue Nai wants the road through the wildlife sanctuary closed at night after a herd of elephants held up and looted a string of cargo trucks. About midnight last Saturday a herd of 20 elephants blocked route No.3259 (the Ban Nong Kog-Ban Wang Nam Phon road) holding up 10 trucks, Yoo Senatham said.

They tipped some vehicles on their side, spilling the cargoes on the road so their young could eat, and gorged on sugarcane and tapioca.

i seem to recall this happening last year or the year before. they stood across the road and blocked the traffic.

apparently some of the drivers had been feeding them sugar cane occasionally and they decided that they would like a little more of that! so they ate a truckfull.

i think its quite funny.

I would have paid good money to see that.

These are smart animals and no mistake. It pains me to see them on the streets and chained up until they 'perform'.

Q: What do you do when an elephant holds you up in the middle of the night?

A: Anything he wants.

Surely, the generals will be commenting later today about this despicable criminal activity caused by rogue elephants with known connections to TRT and the previously elected administration. Further press reports regarding rogue elephants must be suppressed in the interests of national unity...

Were they wearing masks?

Were they wearing masks?

No, but one had a mobile phone and was making a trunk call...........

This could be the story of the year. :o

Police Sketch Drawing Released In Attempt To Nab Gang Leader

elephantpolicesketch.jpg

Police just released this sketch drawing of the alledged leader of a gang of marauding elephants that robbed a convoy of trucks last night. The leader goes by the nickname of "Tiny." The public's cooperation is being sought to locate the leader or any members of his gang, The Jungle Bad Boys. Extreme caution should be used as the gang members should be considered trunked and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this gang, they are urged to contact Colonel Somdet Drinksalottachang with the Chachengsao Police Department.

I see Chang_paarp reading the thread now... anyone you know? :o

The revolution has begun!

Elephants brought in for questioning were later released after witnesses failed to identify any suspects in an identity line-up, saying that it was hard to recognise individual gang members because, it had been dark at the time and they all look the same.

Before a new highway was built that road was one of the ways to get to in-laws house. Mother-in-law always cautioned us to not use it, but if we insisted to be sure to be careful of the elephants. Was never sure what she meant until now. :o

And did the farangs playing polo while riding on top of the elephants score their goal?

A 45-year-old truck driver, Daeng Thongdee, told officials that he had bought tapioca from Sa Kaew and was on the way to deliver it to a Chachoengsao market when he found his truck was the first in a line that faced the elephants' roadblock.

Fearing the elephants heading towards him, he retreated to the trucks behind him. He saw the elephants eating the tapioca from his truck, which was then left with a broken window, a dented body and a torn plastic cover. The elephants fled into the roadside jungle. :o:D:D

- Tha Nation (an honest-to-God quote)

=================================================================

It would seem Tiny and The Jungle Bad Boys Gang were really ready to rumble that night.

Bad boys, bad boys

Watcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do

when they come for you

Bad boys, bad boys

Watcha gonna do, watcha gonna do

when they come for youuuuuuuu
