A bit of a dilemma. Next week I must drive from P'lok to Pattaya, me, the GF and 4 of her family, in my Vigo pick-up. Am I better having four on the back seat, with seat belts of course, or one or two in the very back, open to the elements. If I got stopped, which would be the best for me, please, anyone. I know that both options are 'offically against the law'.............And don't anyone say 'Get rid of the GF' !

Put them in the backseat, it's way, way, way safer then taking a chance in the open back. I have been through several checkpoints under those circumstances and they never gave me a second look.

My experience with a couple of long-hauls from Udon to Pattaya (and back) is the locals much prefer to ride in the truck bed... unless it rains and then they much prefer to double-stack inside the cab.

PS. What's a 'seat belt'?
