Loyal dog leads to discovery of owner’s dead body

Khao, a male Bangkaew dog, led a Thai family to discover the body of their 78-year-old aunt yesterday, by following the canine’s bark. It was suspected that the dog had guarded her body for more than two days.

 

Sahanat Bamrungdech, 47, discovered that his aunt Mathida, whom the family had been looking for, passed away in the garden at the back of her home in Chonburi after he heard Khao’s bark and decided to follow the voice.

A rare story in praise of Thai dogs.  Just back from Ao Nang - bustling with Europeans and no dogs running wild.  Are the two connected?

sounds odd.  From the original article the Aunt and the dog were missing for two days.  When did they hear the dog bark?  How big is the yard?  Nobody thought to look around the property?  The old lady probably didn't drive.

I was told that maybe,  they had all been turned into tasty

breakfast sausages or other snacks for the Europeans down there.

Yes there is a connection. Dog is, unbeknownst to the Europeans, the new main dish.

Probably just barking because not been fed, or just barking for no reason rather than 'guarding' the body. People do love a fluffy doggie story though.
