Time to head south to the Andaman Sea for those azure skies and seas once again…

Phang-Nga province is kicking off the 2017 tourism high season with the “Blue Andaman Happiness” event, from 17 to 19 November, at the Khao Lak Center in Takua Pa district to mark the start of the 2017 high season in Phang-Nga.

The event also marks the reopening of the Mu Ko Surin – Mu Ko Similan National Parks, which are closed during the low season to allow for natural rejuvenation for about half a year.

The Blue Andaman Happiness event is organised under the concept of four senses – sight, taste, smell and hearing.

Sight: take pleasure in sightings of marine life under the Andaman Sea in the simulation tunnel, measuring over 200 metres; Taste: enjoy the delicious Andaman Seafood Burger, which is also set to be the tallest burger in Thailand; Smell: the delectable aroma of freshly cooked food throughout the three days of the event; and Hearing: talent contestants sing their hearts out at the Andaman Voice Idol contest.

The three-day event also features a cooking show of local Phang-Nga dishes by Thailand’s celebrity chef, a Miss Phang-Nga Tourism pageant, and more than 76 booths selling local products and all kinds of food.

The event is being organised by the TAT Phang-Nga Office in cooperation with Phang-Nga Province, the Phang-Nga Provincial Administration, Kuk KaK Municipality, and Phang-Nga Tourism Business Association.

Phang-Nga is one of the most fascinating southern provinces in Thailand with its geographic features of mountains and forests as well as beaches and islands, including Ao Phang Nga National Park and the Mu Ko Surin – Mu Ko Similan National Parks. It is situated 788 kilometres south of Bangkok, and is about an hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport.
