Recliner chair repair/toggle switch

The toggle switch that operates the reclining mechanism on my chair as broken.

I guessed it would sooner or later!

It looks like the cable that runs from the toggle switch as pulled through whatever was holding it

and now it cannot release the footrest and the recliner.

So I am looking for somewhere to get this repaired.

Anywhere on the "Dark side" would be more convenient but I'm willing to travel!

Any advice sought! Thanks

I may have confused you when I said the cable had pulled through what was holding it!

The chair is NOT electric!

The cable is like the brake cable on a bicycle.

When you "toggle" the switch it pulls the inner cable through the outer one so releasing a spring

and the foot rest and chair back are then released.

The inner cable has somehow pulled out of the toggle switch ( lever ) so that it cannot release.

It certainly would NOT be a major job if you knew what you were doing but I'm a bit reluctant to

let just anybody "have a go at it!"

I thought that with it being a common release on a lot of reclining chairs, there was just a chance

that someone else had had the problem and got it fixed.

Ah, sorry. The toggle switch and cable confused me.

There are some upholstery shops on Thepprasit. I would talk to them as they have probably had experience of this sort of thing.

Not as stupid as you think, these guys have the cables, mounting brackets and tools and are normally pretty resourceful. Give it a go.

I agree that a motorbike shop might well have the tools and know-how to do this. Some of those upholstery shops have motorbike repair shops nearby, so between them they could probably come up with something.
