Great YouTube Craftsmanship Series

Featured Replies

If you love woodworking, you don't have to be into boats to love this series, 37 episodes, 20 to 30 minutes long each as Shipwright Louis Sauzedde brings you from selecting the logs to be sawn to finishing a beautiful old style East Coast work skiff, doing most of the work himself.  He is as salty as they come, he began building boats in his family boatyard as a teen and his breadth of knowledge is truly amazing. What is better is he is able to explain and convey his knowledge is the most unassuming and humble way.  He doesn't preach, he just does things in his own unique way and brings you along for the ride.  As I said, you don't need to want to build a boat to get a lot out of this series.  His woodworking techniques apply to all forms of working with wood.

How good is this series?  Read the comments below each episode. No flames, no scoffing, no nasty put downs...pretty much unheard of in YouTube culture.

Warning: This series is truly addictive and you will suffer from withdrawal after watching the final episode.

The first season building the skiff is complete and this year the 2nd season is building a sailing Dory...a style that as a New Englander, is close to my heart.
