A Thai wife said she shot her husband in the head after the pair were having some fun in a resort room in Surin.

Apparently it was all good-natured fun as the couple were japing about "as husband's and wives do" said "Da", the wife.

They were playfully threatening each other when "Da" remembered about her hubby's gun he had put under the pillow on his side of the bed.

She threatened him with a saucy smile on her face not to come any closer or she would fire.

When he made a grab for her she giggled and pulled the trigger, believing the gun not to be loaded.

Unfortunately it was and she shot him under the left ear, reported Manager.

The bullet embedded itself and there was a lot of blood. The husband was not larking about now - though he was still conscious and compos mentis he was now rather quiet.

The cops and medics arrived at the "Ban Krong Tham" rented rooms and took Natthamon Sangiamsap, from Sisaket, to Prasat Hospital. He had lost a lot of blood and the bullet was still under his ear.

"Da", also from out of town, said that Natthamon was her husband.....and luckily still is.

Prasat police will talk to her again to ascertain if she is in fact telling the truth.

Manager said it was a warning to all not to lark about with guns.

This sounds like a tryst or short-time. Who takes a loaded gun to a short-time and puts it under the bed.

With his wife as well. Romance isn't dead in that relationship, for sure. Maybe they were role-playing a gangster and his moll, you know, just to spice things up a bit.

More proof of a missing 'what if' gene in Thailand.

The phrase "Don't worry, it's not loaded ... " crosses national boundaries, methinks.

Be aware the terms "husband" and "wife" when translated from Thai are used very loosely. Of course they could be married, but the article seems to cast doubt on the "wife's" claims.
