Thai drugs suppression police have announced the arrest of a Burmese woman who they say is a big player in laundering drug money for the Shan State.

Min Teng Ae, 41, was apprehended on a warrant when she came to visit Thailand from the neighboring country.

Police in Thailand claim she is one of four people involved in opening bank accounts and moving and receiving drug money and goods for drug lords.

They said she is handling at least 10 million baht a day and the whole operation runs into 10 billion baht.

She has denied all charges.
