THAI resumes regular Bangkok-Denpasar operations

 

BANGKOK, 1 December 2017 (NNT) – Thai Airways International (THAI) has now resumed its regular services between Bangkok and Denpasar in Indonesia, after the volcanic ash shifted its direction from Ngurah Rai International Airport. 

THAI Vice President on Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department, Capt. Pratana Patanasiri, said THAI has received clearances from relevant authorities to resume its scheduled flights between Bangkok and Denpasar Airport in Bali, Indonesia, as the situation of the erupted Mount Agung volcano has deescalated. 

The eruption of the Bali volcano has spewed volcanic ashes into the air affecting aviation safety and caused Denpasar Airport to be closed on 27-30 November 2017. 

The airport then re-opened today as the situation begins to deescalate to a level safe for aviation. 

THAI Airways' daily services on flight TG431 departing Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 8:50, arriving at Denpasar Airport at 14:15 local time, and flight TG432 departing Denpasar Airport at 16:10 arriving at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 19:25 local time can now operate as per schedule. 

The airline used Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to operate both flights in order to provide more seats for passengers affected from earlier flight disruptions. 

The airline continues to assess the situation closely, and may have to cancel flights out of safety reasons if new eruptions occurred.
