December 6, 20178 yr Hello, It appears from this link that list prohibited and restricted goods coming into Thailand that essential oils like the Doterra brand are prohibited. (https://www.royalmail.com/thailand) Has anyone had experience with this? Also, I am not sure from this very long list if health supplements are prohibited or restricted, whether they are classed as "food"? This list is from UK mail, so I assume it applies to most other European countries who send mail to Thailand?
December 6, 20178 yr I had vitamins pills rejected by Thai customs. You need a licence to import anything ingested. It possibly goes for any type of substance used topically as well.Sent from my mobile, please forgive the autocorrect.
December 6, 20178 yr You can import supplements. We do it all the time from iherb.com - about 4 times per year for the last 8-9 years. The Thai government does not want large quantities being imported and then re-sold. For personal use they don't mind. They used to have a guideline on the iherb.com website at one time about shipments to Thailand. Not sure if it is still there, but basically anything over about 5 kg. will attract attention and the package will be opened. If they think you may be reselling they can confiscate the goods. I don't know about other companies but iherb.com has a huge customer base in Thailand and the government is well aware of it. We have never had an issue in all the years and people we know who also order from iherb.com have never had an issue either. Don't know about the oils but why not buy locally? They make lots of oils here.
