Gunshots heard as residents fear smuggling at Loei gold mine

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australian actor Geoffrey Rush said on Friday he had filed a defamation lawsuit against Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper after it published a report about a complaint alleging inappropriate conduct.

PHUKET: A revived effort is underway to have Phang Nga Bay and parts of the Andaman Sea and its coastlines surrounding Phuket, and possibly as far south as the Malaysian border, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Hunt for ‘secret online group’ linked to mother’s child molestation video

Authorities were investigating a secret online group linked to a 25-year-old woman living in Phitsanulok’s Muang district, whose new husband allegedly recorded a live broadcast of her molesting her three-year-old son, deputy governor Paiboon Nabutjom said on Friday.

Police to use lie detector to settle who is the real owner of THB30 million lottery tickets

Police in Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province will put two claimants of five winning lottery tickets to a lie detector test today, as a part of an investigation to determine their real owner.

Several users of DTAC, the giant Thai mobile service provider, had their phone numbers suspended yesterday because, apparently, they hadn’t paid their THB461 trillion phone bills. For those doing math at home, that works out to about US$14.1 trillion.

Thai Embassy issues travel warning for Jerusalem

Norwegian man says Thai wife and policeman lover framed him and got him deported

A 68 year old Norwegian man has gone to Thai media to appeal for justice after he was deported.

 

He claims that his Thai wife - in collusion with a policeman who is her new love interest - framed him by planting a gun at his house.
