Your text said

... you can't behave yourselves as US gays.

That refers to all US gays.

I can't read eh?

Maybe you can't write.

As far as your unabashed anti Americanism well I share the view that the US government and culture is deeply flawed. But I think unlike you I wish that the good people that are there work very hard to make things better.

If it is only about wishes why not wish that ALL people work hard to make things better or better yet wish better things for all people everywhere.

He is just there for his own game, just business and dont care any people. Unless you are rich or and powerfull to make some more bucks. It  almost the same as Putin

The majority of Americans didn't choose him and the vast majority don't approve of him now. But he's in power and to keep it on topic not really I'm sure he did nothing to free the butt tourists 2!
Whoever did help good on them. The butt tourists did a stupid thing but they didn't deserve prison.

Good sir,   I  believe you had a hand involved in the two married same sex couples release.

Surely the 263 posts you posted on this topic were not in vain and your passion for the fair and equitable treatment of these men is breathtaking.

You Sir, are the Mother Theresa of the forum.

Congratulations on your role in freeing the Travelling_Butts

You don't know anything about the U.S election system huh? No biggie. The majority didn't. That's a FACT.

I have no idea how or why they avoided being pressed on the serious charges. Unless you have inside info you don't either.

yes , five times since the founding of the great republic a president has been elected without having a winning margin of votes.

These great American presidents are

1 John Quincy Adams  1824

2 Rutherford B. Hayes  1876

3 Benjamin Harrison     1888

4 George W. Bush           2000

5 Donald Trump              2016

You need to research the Electoral College

Election in USA is millions, if not billions wasted and mostly the wrong president.

You could use some of that money for your soldiers, fighting and coming back broken. Many end up in the gutters of USA. Land of the braves, but spitted out by own people.  But hey ok many countries do so.

1 +1 = 2 Just logic

Jing, please let go. It's not good for your nerves. They're gone and might not come back.

Let's make some things perfectly straight.

I don't like those guys.

I don't relate to those guys.

They don't represent me.

They don't represent Americans.

They don't represent gay men.

They don't represent American gay men.

They don't represent marriage equality.

And, God forbid, I certainly don't represent them.

If anyone in the world thinks they are "heroes" because of what happened to them in consequence to their mistaken actions in Thailand, well, it takes all kinds, and that makes no sense.

I don't think their serial butt tourism photo project is particularly interesting and it's certainly not "art" (not that they said that it was) whether they did it at the white house or where they did it in Thailand.

It's not porn either.

But what I don't like a lot lot more is the TOXIC HOMOPHOBIA that has emerged so rampantly in response to their unfortunate incident here.

I also very much don't like draconian punishments against anyone, here or anywhere, that are way out of whack with the severity of crimes.

Are they still in Thailand? Yes, I think they still are. If anyone has confirmation that they have left the airport, please post it.

Good shout there IBH. Previous winner of the 'poster-of-the-year' poll. About to crash through the 100k post barrier. Regular poster! Let's hear it for JT.

I have read all JT's posts and I think his stance has changed somewhat. He has definately mellowed over the duration of the thread. Personally I was all for giving them a gentle slap on the wrist, paying them some inconvenience dosh, taking a few snaps with the authorities (fully clothed of course), a wai and wishing them 'bon voyage'. But it didn't happen. That's life. But I would like to think that the Junta did take notice if they were 'listening-in' (so to speak) to the posts.

What JT and other people like him don't understand is this: People are entitled to their own & differing opinions.

JT does not represent gay men either.  He has no more right to speak on their behalf than does Katy Perry.

Putting yourself in a group, claiming to represent them and then claiming to be a victim is sooooooo overdone.

You can't call everyone that disagrees with your (or your lifestyle) an "phobe" of some sort. It's just laziness and the lack of a real argument of any sort. It's along the lines of this "all white people are racist" crap that's going around.

The world is great, Trump is the leader, the 2 bottom flashers are out of Thailand, balance has been restored and hopefully there will be fewer hairy crack pics that I see on FB now...

In your eyes it might not be 'art' but could it be seen as artistic? Perhaps not art or even artistic as in Van Gough or Turner,  but could not this intrinsic body art be interpreted as artistic motivation?

Is there not something semmetrical about their pics? After all a woman has two breasts, a man has two testicles, a chicken has two legs and a rabbit two ears. It's nature in its basic form.

I spend my time looking after the cows. When I know they are settled I go on TVForum for up-to-date info (and read some jolly good posts; mostly by JT). Then it's back to tending the cows.

And some respect.

If they want to do things like this in a gay enclave that's fine, but they need to respect that temples are not gay enclaves and there are folks there teaching their children to respect certain things and that definitely doesn't include naked butts in a temple compound.

GLBT folks want people to respect them (fine), so they also need to respect the values etc., of other groups in society. Two way street.

"If they want to do things like this in a gay enclave that's fine."

Must be tbe most ppassive  agressive homopboic twaddle i have ever heard.

What they did was either right or wrong culturally, sexual orientation has nothing to do wih it at all.

And what, pray tell, is a gay enclave? You like the term so much you use it twice.

Boyztown,  Jomtien Complex,  Castro Neighbourhood in San Francisco, Christopher Street in NYC.

enclave    any small, distinct area or group enclosed or isolated within a larger one:

a Chinese-speaking enclave in London.

Hard to believe that one could graduate high school without knowing the word if one isa native english speaker

I am very familiar with the word, i am questioning the manner in which it is used.

But then i would have suspected anyone who had graduated high school to have picked up on that nuance.

But then thaivisa is full of disappointements.

true, there are so many possibilities of the manner it was used.  What manner were you using the phrase passive aggressive?  Just so I understand the nuances and subtleties you may have inferred.

The manner in which he stated something was or acceptable or "just fine" under a certain set of conditions,  struck me as very duplicitous.

I think we all act  with duplicity in our daily live.  My behaviour around my children is different than my behaviour at work.  What is acceptable or just fine in an Orthodox Jewish community could be offensive in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco and vis a versa.  Social mores is not a new concept nor is it homophobic.

Ha...it would take alot more than what anyone here on TVF has to throw to ruffle these feathers.

The thing I find challenging about TVF is dealing with all the stupidity.

There are guys on here that I have never shared a similar view with on any topic but I still look forward to their posts because they offer thought provoking responses. They raise the bar for me and the topic. I have even more appreciation for guys that bring humor to the thread.

OTOH, there are guys like you who go quick for personal attack without any real substance to the topic. An example being your two post contribution to this thread. But I will continue to read your posts for atleast a bit longer so I can better understand if your 2:1 ratio is the result of intelligent responses or just zingers.

By your third post you really should have made some effort to address the topic so make your next one count.  ;-)

Cheers

you need to get out more :) - is that a zinger?

Are you suggesting that the married, mooning couple are Jewish? If so, it would go somewhat to explaining why they have not done the deed in a synagogue.
