Non 'O' in London UK, based on marriage to a Thai

Featured Replies

The last time I got one in London (July 2016) I only had to show a copy of my wife's ID card and a wedding certificate, (Original and copy I believe). No proof of any money requirements.

Has anyone got any recent updates? is it still as easy? or have they changed anything.

I am flying to London especially for the visa so any information greatly received.....

Regards..

Still the same. No need for financial proof. There have been recent reports of people getting them without a problem.

Great stuff....

Always good to get a recent update as we all know how suddenly these things can change causing a huge inconvenience if not known about prior to submission...

They did like to have the wife's copy of ID signed by her so get it done just in case.

Other than that as U/J has said. Take's 48 hours for London Visa office to sort it.

When was that. It has been next day for a while now.

The Birmingham consulate has been closed since April of 2016.

March 2016.

I got a 3 month O visa and changed that to a retirement one a couple of months later.

They the Thai visa peeps seem to change things everyday. They were reporting on their web site that an extension of stay wasn't available now. That's the one where you get a 30 day on arriving and pay 1.900bt to extend it for another 30days. That was 4 weeks ago, my friend had to go to London twice to get something that was still available here. Sorry but I never believe their web site.
