Primetime Soap Reignites Debate Over Executing Rapists

BANGKOK — A primetime soap with sexual assault as a central plot point has inflamed social debate over the death penalty and rape culture.

 

Human rights activists and academics point out that while the primetime soap “Lah” (The Hunt) is sympathetic toward the view that rapists should pay the ultimate penalty, it is also hostile toward the prevalent rape culture found in lakorn, or soap operas.

What's wrong with a good dose of Coronation Street or Emmerdale ? 

Thoose rapist should be shot at once. Everybody that sees an ongoing rape should have the right to beat that person into a pulp.

 

And as long as the primetime soap has all this violence and murders as well as rapes, the degenerated not understanding real life public is going to believe that is real life. Here you can´t show anything more violent than Winne the Pooh or Peppa Pig.

was reading in the news that there's some gay rape story line on coronation street. doubt they'll have the graphic scenes that they seem to think is OK over here though

Try googling Scottish peppa pig......the diet.......Hilarious......But beware......foul language abounds in it, that is why I did not post the link in case it got me a slap wrist.

Bring back the death penalty use the guillotine, quick, no technical issues like hanging or

lethal injection, low on power consumption.

You're kidding, we've got a bad enough name here without that, thank you!

But back on topic if they were to include a few bad driving habits and the outcomes of such, into their story lines it might get through peoples heads here, since all Thais seems to watch these soaps, remember a few years back in the UK among the ads., the clip showing the horrific out come of some young women using mobile phones while driving, the message got through OK!

Lunatics  -  allowing a soap opera on prime-time television that advocates Rape and Vigilante justice, no wonder so many High School and University girls are assaulted and raped in this country.   Mind Boggling
