I had to do it last year for a fiancee visa to Australia.... You have to go to your girlfriends local Amphur in her home town which was Arunyaprathet for me. Your girlfriend has to be present along with her mum or dad and the local village boss has to be there too. Arrive at the local Amphur with party in toe and it takes around about 10mins to have a document printed out that can be submitted to the Oz embassy. The village boss (or someone other than family within the town that knows her personally) has to be there to sign the paper to say that they know her personally and she hasnt been married before.

I was hoping to get it done in Bangkok but $200 in taxi fares later.... it has too be done wherever your girlfriend has her Tabian ban (house registration)

I was just thinking, I had so many dramas last year trying to work out where to get this document, where to get the medical, where to get the police certificate, how to get the notice of intent to marry, and how much it all costs. there should be a sticky thread on all these questions with answers so people dont need to go and pay over the top fee's for an agent to do the work for them. The application itself is easy, the hard work is finding out how to get the documents that I have just listed. Maybe I should start a thread on these topics....

Forgot to mention that the document that the Amphur issues will be in Thai and has to be translated into english for the Embassy. Next door to CC Tower (where you will hand in the application) is a hotel called King Royal Garden Inn, they have a translation service in the foyer that will do the work for around 300bt.
