They did it for kicks how about someone giving them a kick in the ass and a 10,000b fine each. Why do idiots come here thinking it is ok to show your ass, or write graffiti on the public streets. For those here who seem to think it is ok, or cute

you need a good kicking as well

Calm down, LUV!

Agreed!!  But for extra punishment they should have to read the ENTIRE POTY thread out loud starting with post #1. They will probably be dying to get to SWAMPY  and they WILL NOT tag anything there I guarantee it!

I think for further punishment she should have to spend a night on the town with me, and for afters she should be given a good spanking back at my place.   :cheesy::cheesy:

Customs should be waiting for them at Swampy to check toi see if they are carrying any counterfeit sunglasses, watches, purses, clothes etc etc etc  -  that would incur much more fine than 5000 baht...........ya know what they say about payback??  its a mudapukah -- an anynomous call to the US Embassy  Customs Office would seal it for them, if not caught here, then in LAX.

They should consider themselves rather lucky they did this in Thailand and NOT in Singapore.

There was an American lad quite some years ago who made headlines around the world when he carried out some mindless Graffiti Work in SINGAPORE where,

for his trouble, he was not only fined but given a few strokes of the Famous RATTAN CANE.

Do-gooders around the world were  appalled but amazingly, I am given to understand that the fellow has NEVER AGAIN OFFENDED !

Him and his Vietnamese cohort, both ere kids of diplomats stationed in Singapore at the time, caused a big row in newspapers, kids got the cane anyway, parents were PNG'd.   Yaay Singapore!!

She must have gone out and bought that giant green marker with intent to deface Thai public property, how does that give you kicks? I dont get it..

I hope she is made to clean it all off as well

I hope that showed the finger, just left, and will never come back to Thailand. Better spend their money somewhere else, too many grumpy old ridiculous people in this country.

They should be fined heavily and escorted to the airport for a one-way trip back to where they came with a no return stamped in their passports.  I didn't care who it is or what country you are from; when you travel to another country you are a "GUEST" and you should act appropriately or pay the consequences!

The fine for graffiti is about right.

I expect those who were after life in jail + a public flogging will be a little disappointed with it tho.

The 500 baht Thai fines are wrong but theres nowt we can do about that.

There is writhed 5000 Baht and not 500 Baht.

Bad parenting and that sense of entitlement are unfortunately and by no means limited to American rich kids.   They get it in the schools and from all directions thanks to the snowflake nanny state.  As an American I find their behavior embarrassing, but if they'd have been fined 10x that much, made to clean it up while wearing signs around their necks, or even spent a night in the slammer I wouldn't have thought it undeserved.   Defacing public (or someone else's) property in one's own country is bad enough, but as a guest in another country it's a deportable & blacklisting offense as far as I'm concerned.

All graffiti is wrong and Thais are the worlds worst with their fly posters they stick everywhere . Make these brain dead Yanks  clean their graffiti off then clean all other graffiti in that road......That should give them a real buzz

55, this reminds me of an experience from the 1970's. I was a Military Policeman at an Army post in California. There was a car of looky loos on the post enjoying the scenery one of them threw a can out of the window I stopped them and instead of writing a violation notice (which may have meant having to appear on my day off) I gave them the option of picking up all the trash, in the area which they happily accepted. (There was little trash). Violators learned a lesson, a little trash picked up on a Sunday afternoon court case eliminated, my day off not wasted in court, win win win.

Rich kid? Seriously? He's 29 years of age. He's a man. A kid is under the age of 18.

How do you know he's rich? He wasn't staying in a high end hotel.look at their clothes. Old Navy or Target fashion.  They are slime. Pure and simple. If you didlike wealthy people, that's your option, but don't equate being rich with being a jerk.

Or maybe they are part of the low IQ brigade that offer petty trolling  comments. How about they were  arrogant  jerks? One doesn't need to be a supporter of Trump to be a jerk. Just ask some of the antifa vandals.

First of all, a "kid" is a baby goat but correct both parties were young adults as they were both over 21 more less over 18.

I recall back before the 1980's many American tourists were called "ugly Americans" due to their arrogance, and "do you know who I am?" Attitude.

I may have found a new hobby, just follow some tourists around and wait for them to do something illegal, film it find out what hotel they are in and turn them in...............tourists smoking on the beach, rich kids writing on public places, Chinese taking a dump on the sidewalk..........the possibilities are endless.  We could turn this into a TVF  contest and keep score.:cheesy:

I think it is fairly obvious the the photographer was with them all the way, snapping to get it on facebook etc., saying that the fine is OTT made4 to clean it off would have been more appropriate and humiliating experience, and then posted on facebook etc.!

8 pages of out of proportion anger and hostility towards 2 tourists that wrote something on a street post

To many of us, their behaviour was unacceptable - either you do not care or you are not unhappy about what those idiots did? :whistling:

If you do not care, why the comment? If you are not unhappy about their behaviour, man up and be lambasted for your view! Okay sunshine?

Or to put it another way, 'put up or shut up'.
