Is it possible to extend the 30day Extension of a METV

Featured Replies

My husband and I (European couple) have both got a METV tourist visa. After 60 days we have gotten the extension of 30 days. So far so good. Originally we had planned to stay in Thailand for a another 2 months (doing the visa run etc). Due to health reasons of a family member back home, we have to go home to EU earlier.

My question: is it possible to EXTEND the 30day extension (would need only about 10 days more) which we already have or is it a MUST to exit Thailand and do the visa run? Thanks for all your help !!

No, you can only extend each 60 day permit to stay once. If you apply for another extension it will be refused and they will give you 7 days to leave the country. If you need more than 7 days you'll need to do a "visa run".
