Famous politician's son set to go after poster who embarrassed his family

The son of one of Thailand's most well known and influential politicians has said that he intends to get the person who embarrassed him and his family online with allegedly spurious claims.

Wan Yubamrung - the son of former chief MP of Pheu Thai Chalerm Yubamrung - is at the center of a drama about his maid.

A man went on Facebook with a picture and comments that suggested Wan was less than kind to his maid.

While the Yubamrung's gorged on seafood at a fancy restaurant the maid was seen crouching on the floor by a chair, seemingly excluded from the family party, said the poster. "They brought the maid to help with the shopping - did she really have to sit like that?", they added.

The post went viral online with 10,000 people condemning the politician with some fruity language.

He responded by going live on Facebook to explain what happened and have a go at people on social media hounding him and his family..

He claimed that the restaurant did not have enough chairs and the maid was asked to walk around for a bit so they could find a seat for her. But that took longer than expected and she had a bad back and besides she was looking after a grandchild in the party.

So she sat on the floor to accomplish this.

Wan said that the younger sister of his wife even ordered her lobster.

He said that he knew how to deal with people that wronged him but social media was something else. It was out of control and it had caused a younger member of his family to phone him in tears.

That made it personal.

This seems to be the latest version of
"Do you know who I am?"

I can't and won't defend this family. However, would this even be a story if it wasn't Chalerm's family?

Spare me the outrage; Thais treat their servants like crap everyday.

Where are your voices of outrage at that?

This guy has a screw loose.

Horrid family...... is this the toe rag that shot a police officer in a night club?

Now here's the thing,

It is you who have embarrassed your family for being an A Hole.

Do you understand this, I thought not!

10,000 bht contract?

Its an non-story made into a real story by the reaction. Thais need to toughen up about social media comments. The more you react the bigger the story gets.

No. That was Duangchalerm.  This specimen is Wanchalerm Yubamrung, once the Minister of clean toilets.

not down the defamation trail, again ? what an awful law

Pheu Thai, say no more . . . .

Why do I feel cynical about his response.... is it perhaps because I see an empty chair in the picture?

The not enough chairs excuse is a bit weak as the empty chair in the foreground is being used to rest a Louis Vuitton knapsack on it.

Ah, it must be nice to know that you are so well connected you can threaten and act with impunity.

Mind is this a surprise, given this man’s brother not only got away with murdering a bib, but later got a job with them.

Unusually rich, violent and always with a free ticket to prosecutions.
