Renter thailand from cambodia

Featured Replies

I went to thailand in august with a 1 month entry visa. Before it expired I went to an immigration office and got a 1 month extension. Before that expired I went to Malaysia to the thai embassy in penang and got the three month thing. After 2 months I got a 1 month extension at the immigration office. Then I left Thailand and am now in Cambodia. I want to go back to thailand for a month and a half.

Do i just go back to thailand and get a one month entry visa that I can renew in a month? Or do i need to go to the thai embassy here in cambodia and do something? When I went to the thai embassy I  malaysia I just did what I was told and did not understand what was going on. So I didn't learn from that what I need to know now.

I realize this forum probably gets tons of questions like this and am appreciative of any help I can get.  Thanks

You could get a 30 day visa exempt entry (not a visa) and then extend it for 30 days at an immigration office.

When you go to a consulate, you get a "Tourist Visa" which gives you 60-days on entry, which you can extend for another 30-days.  You could get a Tourist Visa in Phnom Penh, though it may take a few days to process.  For your "month and a half" visit, this would work, and you would not have to go to a local immigration office to apply for an extension.

You could also return to Thailand without a visa, and get a "visa exempt entry" good for 30-days, and extendable for another 30-days.  But, be aware, you can only get 2 visa-exempt-entries per calendar-year maximum, via land-border crossings.

you can only get a 30 days excempt VISA 2 times per calender year, and this is via landcrossings... By air there is no such restrictions...
