Hi

I use to take a sleeping pill on the plane when going to or from Thailand. Now I am wondering is that is allowed? I mean to take in to Thailand 1-2 pills? And then again when going back take them out of Thailand for use on the plane.

I got myself some Zolpidem in Belgium for the same reason.  Helped me sleep 4-5 hours on my last flight (departing midnight), which made all the difference.  My advice would be to keep the doctor's prescription just to be on the safe side.

Assuming the medication falls under Thai pyschotropic categories 2-4 (most sleep meds do), yo umay bring in up to a 30 day supply with you provided:

accompanied by a certificate/medical prescription from the prescribing physician. The certificate/medical prescription from the prescribing physician must indicate:

  • the name and address of the patient
  • the identified medical condition
  • the name of the medications and the reason that those medications were prescribed for the patient's treatment
  • the posology and total amount of medications prescribed
  • the name, address, and license number of the prescribing physician

Examples of psychotropic substances in Categories 2, 3, and 4 according to the
Psychotropic Substances Act B.E. 2518 (1975):
Category 2: Buprenorphine, Methylphenidate, Midazolam, Nitrazepam,Phentermine, Temazepam, Triazolam, Zolpidem.
Category 3: Pentazocine.
Category 4: Bromazepam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam,
Clorazepate, Diazepam, Oxazepam, Lorazepam, Phenobarbital

that may be requirement but not a chance in hell you will get all that from a UK GB. Can just see someone asking for a licence number and next week you'll be removed from the doctors list nailed on
