Questions about Non-O based on Retirement

Featured Replies

Today at CW I received the Non-O 90 day Extension based on Retirement that expires March 13, 2018. Thank you thank you for all the advice!

Question 1) I had thought one official told me I could return to CW about 45 days before expiration for the 1 year extension, but I am certain the last official I talked with told me to return approximately 30 days before expiration... anyone know for sure?

Question 2) when I go back to CW, what will I have to bring/do/fillout/pay for the  actual one year extension?

Question 3) is there any minimum required number of days that extension holder has to spend present in Thailand to maintain the one year extension? Do they care about that at all when you reapply the following year?

Thanks in Advance!

1) It is 30 to 45 days - depending on the office.  If they said 30, I'd go with that.

2) The one-year extension fee is 1900 Baht.  The list is close to the same list as you used for the Non-O, but if using the money "in the bank", it must be seasoned for 60-days, but you don't need to prove it's origin any more.  Someone else who uses CW can chime in with if you need pics at your home, etc to apply at that office.

3) You need a re-entry permit to keep your extension valid if you leave.  No "min days" rule.  The only time you "must" be back, is to apply for the next year, sometime between 30 days before up to the last day of the extension.

Thank you for this information!

One question: what if you are out of the country when the 90 day reports are due?

Those are reports for "being in the country for 90+ days in a row," so not applicable.  The count starts the day you stamp-in, and if you leave before 90-days, no report is due.

Thanks!

Some of your questions will be answered by the first post in this thread.  I got my first ever retirement extension and re-entry permit at CW in November, and this post got me through it.  And the last comments on Page 3 (mine included) may help as well.
