I am at a loss to know what all this means. What is "had been done for drugs and rape"?

And where do monks (if they're really monks) get the alms to spend in Pattaya's fleshpots?

most do bad things before they become a monk They become Monks to escape jail The orange robe is like " Get out jail free card"

what is it with these monks 5555. there's a farang one (ajahn jayasaro) it think he's a proper monk

There are many 'Farang' monks, and there are many proper monks, the vast majority of them, in fact. The fact that these scammers had no ID indicates that they were probably never monks in the first place, as anyone can buy orange robes in the market, less than 1000 baht...

Thai Buddhism is only a backdrop for so many illegal activities!

I have seen good and bad monks all over Thailand, and the good monks want nothing

to do with the bad ones either.  They won't rat out the bad ones though because of

face. An American monk, asked me go buy him some cigerettes and I gave his Thai

younger monk 20 baht to write what temple they were from, upset the  American when

I said my Thai wife would speak to the Abbott for me. Then I said have a nice day

and went on my way.
