The army chief yesterday( Jan 3) has vowed to get rid of all army personnel who act as mafias so as to make the Army acceptable by the people.

Speaking on the position of the Royal Thai Army this year when the country is gearing up for election under the democracy roadmap, Gen Chalermchai Sithisart said the Army also needs a facelift or to adapt itself to win more acceptance from the public.

He said the army needs to change from head to toe on disciplines, significantly the mafia like army officers.

SO yea I guess the Army will be recruiting very very soon. Removing such a high % and all

Does this mean the Army will never be deployed domestically except for natural disasters? Something like this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

The purpose of the act – in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807 – is to limit the powers of the federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States.

Or maybe they can look into why someone in the Thai Army can afford to own a ocean front restaurant on property worth $4 million USD? Like you see here in Hua Hin up and down the coast.

That will mean starting from the top .

I'm holding my breath, starting now....please don't keep me waiting too long to hear the first names.

It will be very easy, after all!

Might be tough to follow through since the army is currently running the country as their own personal mafia.

I was a soldier, now I am a politician.

Oh the timing is perfect.

By doing so, he risks his job and prosecution for: attempt to dissolve the army.

Bit silly the army chief saying he will get rid of mafia like army officers, if he did that there would be no officers left.:cheesy:

There are many mafias in Thailand. The biggest and the best being the government run mafias like the Army, the Police, the Education system and politicians and their "connections".

Getting rid of a few crooked bods in the military wont make a scrap of difference.

Sounds like a suicide not to me.

Just check to see what type of watch they have on.

I'm sure the disabled and dead army conscripts can't wait for the army to act.

when finished maybe he could continue with the police
