Nong Khai immigration police Thursday arrested a Laotian woman Thursday morning after she was found using alleged fake visa stamps in an attempt to hide that she had overstayed her visa.

Pol Captain Apichart Khontha, deputy inspector of the Nong Khai Immigration Police, identified the woman only as “Annie”, aged 29, with no surname. She is a resident of Vientiane.

Annie admitted that she had overstayed her visa by 251 days while working in Bangkok and wanted to return home, said police. She paid a friend Bt1,500 to create fake visa stamps that showed she had previously entered and left Thailand several times.

I wonder if she will get to stay a long time in jail in Thailand or be sent packing to Laos and banned from re entering?
