My current b visa is through my employer along with my work permit. My visa expires in may of 2018. My permit expires in October of 2018. 

I know I will need both documents replaced through my new employer. Will I have to leave the country and wait for a new acceptance letter from my new employer before applying for the new 90 day b visa?

Do you have a multiple entry non-b visa from an embassy or consulate or a one year extension of stay based upon working issued by immigration?

If have a visa can change employers without a problem. You would only need to have you current work permit canceled and apply for a new one.

If an extension of stay your new employer would have to apply for a work permit for you and get a application approval letter. Then with a termination letter from your current employer you could cancel the extension and apply for a new one showing supporting documents from you new employer and the work permit application approval letter. The after getting the extension your new work permit would be issued after your current one is canceled.

That's great news. I only have a 1 year extension now. Is there any grace period between my leaving the old job and starting the new one? When exactly do I have to cancel my existing visa?

 

Should I apply for the new work permit first before canceling the existing visa?

 

 

Finally, do you know what I should tell the que desk when I go to cancel the visa?

You have to apply for the new extension (it is not a visa) at the same time you cancel your existing one.

You cannot apply for the new extension without the work permit application approval letter.

You can apply for the new work permit but it will not be issued until your existing one is cancelled.

You will apply for the work permit in Nakhon Pathom. You will also apply for the extension at the immigration office there.

Yes it does.

Extensions based upon working are an excretion to the rule that you have to apply at the office where you are living.

You will cancel the extension at Chaeng Wattana.

If you go before the termination date on the letter from your employer they will post date it to the date on the letter which would give you a little time to do the new extension.

You have to have the termination letter to cancel your extension.

The letter just needs to state the date you will no longer be working for them with your personal information (name, passport number and etc).

New employer applies for the work permit and gets the approval letter. Cancel your extension and then apply for the new extension.Then the old work permit is canceled and the new one issued.

It is possible that the new work permit will be issued since it will be done in different province than your current one.

Also, they are nkt fiving me MY WP.

 

Can i go to the labour office and cancel my WP a week before, without actually having the WP?

It should not matter since you will be applying for a new extension before that day.

It shouldn't matter as long as I can change the visa to marriage,  which isn't certain.
