A war of words has broken out between a famous Thai boxer accused of throwing fights and the influential owner of the camp where he trains.

In one corner is Petch Bun Karn who has lost several fights recently. In the other is Narong Khongsingh otherwise known as "Sia X".

Sia X said through his wife Khun Toi that Petch was popular when he first arrived at the Sor Jor Lek Muang Nont camp and did well. Then he started losing.

Apparently they had an agreement that if he lost again in a latest televised fight he would suffer punishment.

After being knocked out in round three Sia X administered the punishment behind the ring - a kick to the face, which he admitted.

Later he was whipped 20 times back at camp. Pictures showed deep gashes to the boxer's back.

After posting a video on Facebook Petch has gone to Bang Bua Thong police claiming that he was held for three days against his will.

Sia X denies that part of the affair.

TNews reporting on the story wondered in their headline who was lying.

Following the latest fight the boxer was taken to a temple where he swore on Buddha that he did not throw the fight and other bouts.

He denied throwing fights in an interview with Channel 3.
