The director of Khon Kaen airport has said that his airport is not ripping off passengers at its food and beverage outlets.

Atthaya Lapphamark carried out an inspection of ten restaurants and shops at the north eastern Thai airport after news in Thailand that airports were taking advantage of travelers.

Not so at Khon Kaen said the director - he told INN that a bottle of plain water was 10 baht, a mineral drink was 20 baht, a pork bun just 30 and 65 for a krapao moo with egg on top was a not unreasonable 65 baht.

He said that outlets at his facility were complying with rules that state they were not to charge above 25% of standard market prices for food and drink.

Image is definitely NOT from Khon Kaen Airport (KKC).

Bet it is.

Looks like this restaurant on the most upper level (one up from departure level).

Up the small escalators, pass the massage booth on the left and then you reach this restaurant.

I have been up there more than once.

Best place to eat good and cheaply at BKK is the employee food court on ground level at the far end of international arrivals side of airport

That's true and was a good hint for long time.

But some months ago I went down and couldn't even reach the entrance.

100% packed with Chinese tourists. Crowd waiting outside.

No idea whether it is still that bad.

Never been bothered nor seen any taxi touts in Khon Kaen airport. Taxi desk is next to car park, turn left after walking out of arrivals. All the taxis use meter and I have never had any problems.
