On my way home from work this afternoon, I saw a BOMB SQUAD (as it was written on the windscreen) vehicle today. It was a pickup with Royal Thai Navy or similar liscence plates and there were 5 guys in full uniform inside. I thought this was odd as I have never seen this before. This was immediately north of the Chalong circle.

A few minutes later, just as I turned into Saiyuan Rd, I saw another two, similar official looking vehicles. None of them were in any hurry, no sirens or anything but I found it odd. In seven years have never seen the likes of this.

Did anything happen in southern Phuket today that we might not hear about on the news?

if something happened there would be some news as well as blocked/cordoned off roads. Looks like it's just a part of security measures or they were exercising
