Dan Truong Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Hi I keep getting a notification top right about a mail password for a mail address I rarely use........and don't want to go through the password thing for fear of getting locked out. The macbook logs in itself So I simply went to preferences and changed the notification to none. It still comes up and is a nuisance What to do please?
RichCor Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 If the email application is prompting for the password, then deactivate the account there. More likely, this email name is being used for some type of cloud service, hence why the mac is continually asking for the authentication password. You need to find what program or apple function is using that account -- then figure out if whats being stored there is still needed or can be disabled or deleted. Note that the password might be the email password, or some other password you specifically entered when you set up the service.
