One year on, key suspect in gangland assassination of British man in Pattaya remains at large

The British man suspected of masterminding the gangland style assassination of a fellow Brit in Pattaya is reportedly free after being released from jail in Cambodia.

January 24th marks the one year anniversary of the murder of Tony Kenway, who was shot dead at the wheel of his Porsche Cayenne GTS sports car outside the Sanit Sports Club in the Mabprachan Lake area of Pattaya.

The shooting was captured on CCTV.

Three men suspected of being involved in the murder remain at large.

South African Abel Bonito Caldeira is wanted for carrying out the shooting, while British born Miles Dicken Turner is believed to have driven the getaway motorbike, with Toby James Nelhams alleged to have been the mastermind behind the murder.

Dicken-Turner and Caldeira fled to Cambodia in the hours following the attack.

However, in February, Nelhams was arrested in Cambodia and held in the notorious Prey Sar jail where he was awaiting trial on charges of fraud and entering and working in the country illegally.

In September, Phnom Penh Municipal Court found Nelhams guilty of fraud but dropped charges of entering Cambodia illegally and working without a passport or work permit.

The time Nelhams served while he was awaiting trial counted towards his sentence.

Two sources in Cambodia, independent of each other, both of whom are familiar with the case have said that Nelhams was released from Prey Sar in October 2017, although Thaivisa has been unable to officially confirm this.

Nelhams whereabouts is currently unknown.

Meanwhile, neither the police in Thailand or Cambodia appear to be any closer to catching the killers of Tony Kenway.

It is not clear if Thai police are actively pursuing the case or  Thailand ever formally sought his extradition from their counterparts in Cambodia.

Kenway, 39, was described as a website designer by his wife in the days following his murder.

However, police discovered that he had links to organised crime and had been running a illegal gambling website, as well as boiler room style operating that targeted senior citizens in Britain and Australia.

“Tony Kenway had a call centre that employed foreign staff and made calls to Australia and Britain. He had two different companies that were involved in the scam, an officer involved in the investigation was quoted as saying.

“The aim was to get people abroad to give their life savings. It was not small amounts.

“He was strong and pushed them for big investments. He promised them a big win. Like winning the lottery.

“The people who paid the money lost out. It was big amounts, millions and millions of Thai baht that many different people paid to him.”

Police believe that Kenway and Nelhams were once business partners.

Prior to his murder Kenway is believed to have reported Nelhams to the police in Thailand.

Kenway claimed Nelhams owned him more than 8 million baht.

It wouldn't suprise me if the South African and Brit are still in Thailand somewhere(with protection

from complicit cops)..You know the type, will never leave Thailand even under murder suspicion.

Sounds like they've got nothing on Nelham.....can't even apply for extradition!

Poor Tony haha.....at least he died in his beloved porche

pursue the case and open up that whole can of worms? i think the BiB want this one brushed under the carpet and forgotten. wonder why

My thoughts exactly.......very serious public crime and going nowhere. That's why i mentioned complicit/

cop involvement somewhere!

No chuckling when someone is dead, no matter who - so for the politically correct, RIP

However, it was not a random shooting just because the victim had a hot wife or a hot car. It was connected to some occult underworld activities.

Alea jacta est.

think so, too.

But seems justice was served to Tony Kenway.

See this killer as an inofficial executioner.

More effective than Thai justice system. There are more missions available that could make Thailand a better place I think.

It could make sense only Nelhams was working from 2014 from PP and Sihanoukville after their split-up. Rumours that Nelhams channelled USD$250,000 boiling room income to a side account Kenway was not aware of, created the split. That was a Jomtien based office.

i think it's only a matter of time before they all get what's coming to them. and that includes your man in BKK/HH

*sad thing is some of those guys must be very good sales people and work hard to make that kind of money in that business. they surely could have made an honest living doing something else. it's just a shame they have no morals and shame to basically just be a bunch of common thieves who like ruining old pensioners lives. scum of the earth. and they think people respect them if they drive a porsche or have  big house. people don't. decent people respect factory workers more than pricks who would go out and spend some old dears life savings on a watch whilst she's alone crying herself to sleep every night. takes a real low class bottom of the gutter type of scum to do that

The deceased was scum who stole from peoples grannys and the world is a better place without him.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum(b)  haven't got a triple digit IQ between the two of them and will meet a similiar fate if karma is to be believed.

Andrew Drummond . com has many well researched articles on the boiler rooms of BKK and there is little doubt that these cash cows are protected by men who choose to wear brown

A years fly's by, My friends remember this as the headlines in the UK said web designer shot dead and at that time a local scum crowd featuring a BK attorney, Cop and Lawyer whose client was trying to scam me out of 10 million had said if I did not pay I would never go home. But I was out of the country this day via the Yingluck route and 26th of Jan in the air on the way home. This is one web designer that did get out alive. never heard a thing from the scammers, but they bloody will hear a lot about themselves. Nasty place to live. Mine you on route home I was asked many times to do a scam like this guy, you know set up websites that scam those who saved their money out of it. My answer was FY and no I do not miss the place or ever will

I find it hard to believe that a total stranger on a plane would ask a total stranger on a plane to engage in criminal  activities with him.

Sorry but have not read anything to say beyond reasonable doubt that the deceased was involved...

But I do agree they who do these scams are the scum of the Earth.

I also have not read anything credible that would convince me any Thai  law enforcement or persons in authority are protecting these Scum Bags as I would assume that as all one needs is a place to work like a hotel room, a rented house or condo with access to the internet and a phone so very difficult to detect.

He could be a member of many websites. The rumours and suggestions as to why he was killed have

been printed before so BM's posting in this thread are only passing on information...

they are probably more underground than they used to be back around 2000 when they had rooms all over bangkok such as FCI over in Asok, IAM in Convent, Kensington Associates etc etc. they were bloody everywhere and of course they were paying the police. all you have to do is look on craiglist to see them constantly advertising for people. some have rented out whole resorts in the sticks and used the clubhouse as offices and the staff sleep in the rooms. they have all manner of ways of doing it but to think they haven't been paying the police, well that's just blinkered. if you like a drink  or maybe going to the odd go go bar in suckumvit i think you'd be surprised how many you drink in that are washing their money

Two guys were extradited to Thailand from Cambodia shortly after the killing of scum Tony K. They were to face charges: what happened to them?, free on bail to BiB never to be found!

No idea who 'BM' is, I was specifically referring to the two quotes in my post (the two quotes should have given you a hint!) and some specifics, including phraseology, in those posts that I'm pretty sure have not been discussed in the media.
