'I've signed your death warrant,' judge tells abusive ex-USA Gymnastics doctor

Featured Replies

No?  The judge has not ordered his execution, therefore she has not signed his death warrant.  Dying of natural causes in 25 years or whatever (whether incarcerated or not) is not signing a death warrant.  This isn't a difficult concept to grasp guys.

Exactly.

The judge should stick to her serious reality based job rather than spouting obvious hot button falsehoods.

There is a death penalty in the USA.

That's a death warrant.

He didn't get the death penalty.

So there was no death warrant. Period.

A prison sentence longer than life spans is not a death warrant.

She should have said something like -- we have made sure that you will never walk as a free man for the rest of your life -- and be done with it.

Life in prison is arguably a more severe punishment than the death penalty anyway, especially for someone like the convicted that obviously was living a life before of wealth and privilege.
