How much does Savanakhet want to see in the bank? Do they still want a fight out and hotel booking. There is conflicting info here

My understanding is that 20,000+ baht equivalent in a bank account is always required. They may waive flight and hotel bookings, but it is better to have them.

Why in the world woud it be a problem to show what they need to see for stay in Thailand? That regarding that you already have the nowledge out of it.

People that stay in Thailand out of the wrong reasons or ar showing the wrong credentials, might be able to stay for a while, but they will evidentially be thrown out of the country.

I can't see anywhere in the OP's post that it would be a problem to show the funds, he is simply asking if they need to be shown

 

At some Embassies they are not asked for, it is better to be safe than sorry

The only money they ever asked me to see was the 5,000bht for the VISA.

Which is just as well as I'm broke (well I was 3 months ago when I was there).

I went about 2 weeks ago with a passport full of Tourist visas. I showed a bank statement and a cheap ticket out of the country best to be on the safe side if you ask me, got the visa no problemes.

Depends what you want. Multiple entry based on marriage then no funds needed to be shown. Normal original paperwork with signed copies and the money to pay for it. Don’t forget the Lao requirement etc.

I was there just before Christmas and two people got rejected for a tourist visa for not having the 20k fund requirement.
