One point to add at the 18-years-brake. If you take her out from one bar, that is ok, but don't take her to another one, where she is allowed to visit from 20 onwards only.

my rule is 20+ and the girl must have her ID card ready and I make a copy of it, as I want to know, who is with me....

Should the girl disagree to identify herself, then no way and I look for somebody else...

I had unexpected police checks, questioning my Thai girl when driving, and I had even police checks in my hotel rooms (in South Thailand) - one time, I remember, a female police officer was questioning my girl (28 years old, Thai-Muslim).....the girl insisted to stay with me....

Another girl was from Isaan, some years later, 24 years old.... same result, refused to accept free transfer back to her home-town.

To search through hotel-rooms after midnight is not so rare in South Thailand to the displeasure of the hotel-management. Both times it was around 1.30 AM...

in Songkhla and in Narathiwat....

I am careful with that all...

My ID papers, visa, driving permit and also the girls are ok anytime....

Why to produce troubles, which are not necessary?

My advice: Do not underestimate police and law enforcement in Thailand.
