Rough weather forecast for next week

The Meteorological Department has advised people to keep abreast of weather news to prepare for rough conditions in the coming week.

Rainstorms have been forecast for the first part of the week, after which the temperature will drop by between six and eight degrees Celsius. The Northeast will experience such conditions first before other parts of the nation, including the Greater Bangkok, will see the same.

The weather bureau on Sunday said people should take good care of their health in such weather conditions.

“Farmers, meanwhile, need to watch out to protect their crops,” it added.

As for the South, the Meteorological Department cautioned small fishing trawlers against heading out to the sea in the Gulf of Thailand between January 31 and February 4.

Weather updates will be available on http://www.tmd.go.th and via Hotline 1182 round the clock.

just wondering how a farmer can protect his crops, cover the field with a bloody great taupaulin, ?? great advice as per usual

If they're right this could be bad news for Wednesday's total lunar eclipse viewing.:saai:

They said last week there would be bad weather and heavy rain in Bangkok from Thursday-Sunday.

Not a drop.

I've wondered the same with previous messages like this! guess when the poor down trodden farmers start complaining about ruined crops they can say 'we told you"?

Then you were lucky or it would have flooded again. I wished they fixed that tmd weather radar so we can see the showers coming..

mate you're up in udon so no doubt know more than i do about crops, is that true or a joke?

It looks as though here is RURAL ISSAN ...Udon Thani to be exact, the weather will be a tad cooler in the day with lower than normal evening and night temperatures, zero suggestion of any precipitation, although we did have a light sprinkling Sat night enough to say it rained but after 20 mins stopped and dried out in seconds .

What they really need is a good Doppler radar system throughout the country.

Isn't that when a train's klaxon changes pitch as it comes towards you.

Delay... Weather adapting to Thailand customs [emoji23]

I will welcome the cooler weather even the rain, as hard to get climatized again this year. Today feels hotter than yesterday in BKK. Any reservoirs that still need some more water anywhere?

Just curious.

Geezer

Just called the wife in Nakhon Phanom Province and it is cats & dogs

I so agree with you and the mercman , it was like being at school and being told by the teacher to wrap up for the 1 mile walk home mid winter. Oh " Don't forget your scarf "

Fishing trawlers beware , watch your health. Fer 'eavens sake.
