Just go one day after your birthday, you will get 5 years + 364/365 days (depending on leap year or not).
marioc
In Chiang Mai at the Office on Hang Dong road I was told to not bother and to wait for the licence to expire and then renewed with the new Passport number.

chrissables
If you are taking your car or motorbike out of the country and using/need the translation of the log book, the put your passport number on the translation, so take both passports. 9KPhalak
I feel certain you can wait. I don't know if there's a law against it.
anfh
I need to bother. if you ever need to produce license etc and they check passport number , the system shows both old and new passport numbers as linked internationally etc
Whitson
When I renewed both my 5yr car and m/c licenses in Banglamung last year I had to take my passport and copies. The new licenses were issued with my new passport number on them. Had to pay extra for this service...cant remember how much exactly. Maybe 120B or so more. Jonmarleesco
It's purely ID when you apply for the licence, so I wouldn't bother. Address, on the other hand ...
