topfield
With the baht strengthening this evening back to 35 the pattern is now clear. During Thai banking hours the baht trades at 36. Outside these hours it trades at 35 Pound equivalent 71 and 68 approx. Expats with a reasonable sum to change into baht (which they really dont need to change right now) have to ask themselves no later than 4pm each day .....do I change now at the good rate or wait until tomorrow to change ? Ah, .....but will the BOT music still be playing tomorrow ...one can never be certain.......it ie. BOT intervention, may stop ) and you are stuck with up to 5 percent less baht. Best advice on how to deal with this fear of the music stopping .....take your 36 /71 baht while the music plays and you wont go far wrong what with 4 % interest available on fixed deposits. NB before you write in.....figures quoted above are only approximate
