FIVE Britons were thrown into a hell-hole jail in Cambodia for “pornographic dancing” at a pool party after failing to pay a £140 bribe to corrupt cops, it has been claimed.

some battles are best not fought, i would prefer not to have the moral high ground and be the guest of the Cambodian government

indeed, has the OP here done any fact checking into this story? if so could this  supporting evidence be included in the lead article.

 

if not, given the type of newspaper the sun is, should you really be simply be reproducing their content with no quality checking?

I'm sure the movie story will be heavily amended for the family channel next year - certainly wont do the Cambodian tourist industry any good - whether they are in the right or wrong. Just know if it was here, they would all come out of the Thai police station on the Pattaya road, sigh a huge thanks, then get arrested and thrown back in prison for a relieving smoke on the beach.

The last thing these guys need is the Sun newspaper  spouting off for them  same the woman in Egypt she would have proberly been out  by now

It was reported quite widely in the UK press including The Times.  However most sticked to the facts, something you rarely get from the Sun.

Apparently the police bought them pizza while staying at the station according to another posting. They also got new suits a, a free haircut and saved 140 pounds. Not sure what they're complaining about.

This is just young kids being silly, perhaps a little culturally insensitive - this is also a handful of Police who are widely known for being extremely corrupt attempting to profit. 

 

The kids aren't angels and they have behaved poorly, but the actions of the Cambodian Police is much much worse IMO.

Yes.  Watched that.  Idiots.  "No sex please, we're British"  apparently did not apply here.  Just the sort of thing to catch the attention of the plod in nearly any place on the planet.   In a quiet closed place with less drunk noisy participants they would not have raised any eyebrows.  But talk about pushing your luck with that lot in full cry.........................  and then complaining!!!!!  Sheesh.
