Greatest Thanks, to those here on Thai Visa that helped me with this, probably often asked question, Re Voluntary work here in Thailand.

All is good, one of the school officials, though difficult to get a straight answer out of, as you would expect, seemed of the opinion that once a week, to speak with the Children in English, for 10 minutes just generaly, at the Morning assembly, was OK, …  but agreed that every day would be voluntary work, so was not OK.    (And he said that he had, had seen foreigners speaking at the assembly, only about once a week, when invited to, previously, without any problem)

And all the Thai Visa Blog People, who obviously know !  Say "A one off, no problem.  Once a day every day is voluntary employment, work permit required" ... which also sounds pretty logical to me.

Like it is pretty easy regards Immigration here in Ayutthaya province, without the Huge pressure of both long and short-term bulk Tourism,  as in Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket.

And well, with no nightlife here either, I think that this does not attract so much trouble either, and from their own point of view also, so things ARE easier.  (I think) (Well, other than Humbali, right, Har Har … number 2 for was it JI or Al-Qaida ? … Who was caught here in Ayutthaya, trying to hide amongst other Muslims I suspect, ..  But well they showed their good side, and a good local social coherence to Thailand, Policy, and local style, and Dobbed him in I think ….. Har Har)

Thanks to the kind people that helped me get pretty close to the facts on this case, of what is and what might and might not be volunteer, “Work”, needing a work permit.

I think, and ThaiVisa have some very VERY good other blogs, re this, in this visa and immigration section !  I just googled “volunteer visa Thailand” and I found them … Re how to go about getting a work permit for voluntary work if you do want to do it regularly.

And spelling too?

No. Not Spelling. ... Well just simple words that every one knows .... on a One off Basis ....but what about "Sorry I made a Mistake" to be honest ???... A Good Concept aye ! and the Teacher said that the Children are hammered about NOY throwing rubish every day, and well their School is spotless

Spelling ?  Well I go for Singlish, or the likes ….  “OK, Lar” … (Or “Matte” if it is Auz Singlish) ...  and I have a full blood Hakar Chinese Malay pen friend, that does things to English, that no one else would ever believe, like it is better to text her, … than Phone ...  "Baggeo” ? An Old English word for Suite ??? Is it ?  Those Melaka Malay English speakers, are just great aren’t they when they start mixing in Old 18th  Century English words in with today’s Singlish !!! …  And get ??? Well ... Malayshish I guess ??? … So Spelling ??? ... I am actually not that interested in it, other than wanting to stay main Stream.

Spelling for Thai Children, No not for me, no big txt from me, proper teachers can do that, as I am not a teacher.  I am one off guest, on occasions when invited, on the simple words right, like we are starting at the bottom here, in the central Thai country side, but doing some good .... (I am an Ex Scheismic Exploration vessel Navigator actually, initially being a Surveyor, and now an armature Geographer in my spare time)

Like English words ? Like “Yawl” ?  …  Do you know what one of those is ? …  Well they do, the kids, ... they looked it up in the dictionary !  …  It is an old fashioned two masted boat, sounds like an  Arabic word I think ? Though I think my knowelagble S. E. France living, before moving to East Java, friend said it is French, ...  ...  I think that it has both the masts in front of the helm.  ...

You can be more practical you know, for a guest performance, you can show them a Hammer, a Screw Driver and Pliers etc. ... like “Get the Tools Mack” !… and considering they will probably end up just fixing up their Bicycles and then motor cycles, ... or in the many IT factories around here, (Making 60% if the worlds hard drives or testing them, or mother boards, I believe, like my 2 Step Daughters do), … so Hammer, Pliers, and Screw Driver, … possibly will be some help to them, when I am not so sure about "Yawl" ...

And well, Knife Fork and Spoon, for when they make it to the Folang restaurant !  Right ?  …  So when the Folangs ask for them, they might have at least half a chance of getting them. ... And they love it just hearing about that stuff ! ...  Thais are Great Story people, as you all probably well now.

And “Brick”, the Local Cottage Industry, making bricks for Bangkok and its surrounds ….   I am not sure whether they have a sense of Humor, but I think that they do ...

I always tell children that if they do not go to school, they will end up loading Bricks on to the back of a truck, a pretty hard one to mechanize that one, ... but well, help load one truck, and in about an hour and a half, right next to your house, ... you get about as much as a Police man, teacher or Nurse ! Get in a day  ... and Load 2 trucks, and you can earn about double !!! ... And Load 3 ? Well you are pretty buggered after that, ... I can tell you, as I have seen them stumbeling home ! ... Even the hardest of them.

I did 5 runs up the plank, but then was black balled, as I was just too slow, and was Buggering up their Routine. The taller ones load, carry, and then unload on the truck, 200 bricks at a time, in a simple yoke setup, and well, I can tell you, that is pretty bloody heavy load.  They get 11 tons of bricks on to a truck, with double breaking resiviours, so they all carry about 2 tones of bricks up the plank, for every truck as well as pick them up, and put them down, ... Yes I was just doing a guest Performance as a Brick Truck Loader, and the conclusion, ... Yes I will keep on pushing the Buttons on my computer ...

... So I have to go to the assembly every day any way, as I have to drop off my Great Grandchildren, and the Great Nieces.  (So hopefully they will NOT become Brick Loaders) And well I would imagine joining in in the exercises at the school, which is a REALLY Good thing, would be OK, as well as a terrific thing for me myself, and my getting RSI fast, Right Mouse arm better !

But yes, … Spelling, No, ..  Like “I made a mistake” … Suggesting opennes, and Honesty ?  ... An interesting concept yes ???  ..  ...  Well it is a good, no, better than usual I think, Government Primary school, and they seem VERY Honest.

…. And Ok, I asked the teacher, and she said that they get “Not throwing rubbish around” hammered in to them every day ! ... And they have some very efficient, True Lifer looking, old Thai women teachers there also, who drill them at assembly, .... And well their school is VERY tidy, so no outside guest Influence needed on that one.

So I cannot do it regularly, as it is not legal with the Government, a shame really, as they are really great people, exhibiting the best of Humanity, … and it IS what you Englishmen would call a VERY GOOD Crack !!! … Uplifting, and restored your faith IN humanity.

They already asked me to come every day, (I told them that they might "Have to get another monkey" and they laughed, like Thais do have a good sense of Humor ! ) ... but I had to say NO and explain why, ... Sad really, as I could do a lot of good, if I could go every day.

Still, The Thai English teacher is VERY good also, about 23 ? and just out of Nakon Sawans Rajubat Uni, and she has a very good English vocabulary, and pronunciation, as well as Negotiable and helpful like good Thais are, …  … So I will just give her a bit of more modern English, and Idiom stuff, and let her do it.

... Too long and rambling, ? Well it is my post so I can do it I hope, like just telling what is really possible in this country, … if you look around, and remain open.

Children Marching from Assembly to Class to the tune of - The School Band.mp4

Take a step back in time !

To when Schools were REAL Schools,

And the Children marched to class after assembly, and enjoyed it, realizing just how lucky in life they really were, and really enjoyed going there !...

Yes, there are some in Thailand particularly I think , ...  some are more academic than others, particularly High Schools.  ...  But this Primary School near my home, is just great for little children I think, up to grade 6.    And then we look around for a better academic one in the big town for our children to go on to. (And we will send a few othes from the extended family and friends, in with them, as it would be better for them to have some numbers, in the big town)

Some people might sight that this is not of Children learning "Facts" a necessary thing, but it is certainly going to produce good people to work in, and manage a Coherent Society, ... Which Works !  ...  (As opposed to many other societies, evident around the globe, many of which do not seem to work very well these days)
