A Filipino lady staying here in Phuket entered Thailand on 3rd December on a single-entry non-immigrant tourist visa obtained in Hong Kong. She got a 60-day stamp until 31st January. She intends to do a visa run to Burma on 31st of January.

Questions:

1. Under the new rules should she be able to re-enter for 30 days from 31st January (i.e. visa on arrival)?

2. How many times would she be able to do that (I guess 3 times in 6 months)?

3. Should she be able to extend her current tourist visa here in Phuket? For how long and how much?

4. How long and for how much can 30-day visa on arrival be extended for in Phuket these days (I guess 7 days for 500 baht)?

Thanks!

1. She would be able to enter visa free for 30 days. No change in rules on that except for max 90 day limit.

2. She can have a maximum of 90 days visa free entry per six month period - that could be a lot of weekend entries or only 3 if each was 30 days.

3. A tourist visa can normally be extended 30 days and costs 1,900 baht. That would not be counted against above 90 day entry limit rules.

4. She would not have a visa on arrival - it would be a 30 day visa free entry and should not be extended at all. 7 days would likely be max with good reasons and cost would be 1,900 baht.
