An illegal Bangkok nightclub was raided this morning where well over half the 200 patrons tested positive for drugs.

Acting on a tip of off illegal activity a large force of administrative officers descended on the Infinity Indy club in Suksawat Soi 2 in Jomthong district of Bangkok.

Daily News reported there was a sense of panic among the 200 party goers as the authorities turned on the lights, turned off the music and began their searches.

They found a lot of drugs and several weapons.

There was ketamine, "Ya Fai" (nimetazepam or Erimin-5) and ice (methamphetamine). Drugs were hidden in 100 and 20 baht notes and stuffed into ice buckets or thrown in the trash.

Ya Fai has been called one of the most dangerous drugs on the market in Bangkok.

Tellingly, among the charges laid was the use of illegal radios for communication.

A bouncer was found armed with a 9mm gun and another gun and two kinds of ammunition was found hidden under the stairs and a drinks counter.

A total of 135 people tested positive for drug taking with purple results in urine tests. Fifty eight were men and 77 women.

Seven patrons were under the legal age of 20 to be in the club.

Thirty seven had no ID - 26 men and 11 women.

The club had no licences at all and advertised 4am closing that is illegal.

Seven charges were laid including alcohol serving offences, serving to under 20s and firearms offences.

Do you fill the jails or address that fact that people wish to escape.
Alcohol - OK

Nicotine - OK

Note: the above are controlled by monopolies

All other herbals that make you feel good - illegal.
Any substance that makes you feel good - illegal or highly regulated.

The 'War Against Drugs"  Sorry, unwinnable.  But the government will ruin tens of thousands of lives in their pursuit of legislated morality and conformity to authority.

Instead, dry up the supply of really dangerous narcotics at the source.  Can't do that though.  The same people who want these drugs to be illegal are -- well -- if you have a brain you know.

You are all missing the point here.

How did this very big  illegal nightclub get open in the first place with no licences I ask the Police

Commissioner of the area ?

Someone must have looked the other way, or filled their pockets, or have I missed something ?
