At least the girls I knew in Australia could mostly spell. Of course, my background was completely different to yours. I can honestly say I've never even met a chronically obese ice whore. For you, evidently, they're irritatingly ubiquitous. I think it sounds interesting.

Bill Miller
As near as I can determine my income is three times what many Thai professional people earn. More than the average MD or airline pilot, about on par with a senior retail manager. About four times what my GF earns as an assistant manager in one of the largest retail establishments in Bangkok, yet she says it is not enough for her to retire and two of us to live on. For some reason she thinks two people living together is more expensive than two people maintaining separate households. Many Thais seem to have a real problem with mathematics and economics. Really lovely woman in all other respects.

Swedenlars
It is a fact that Thai Ladies can seldom adapt in Farangland. I recently read in a survey from Switzerland (OK, maybe not representative) that after 10 years of marriage with a Thai Lady 70 % are getting divorced. Now what was interesting, 80 % having a Filipina were still married. What does that mean ? Make your own conclusion. Maybe the best thing would be not getting married at all.

Popular Post Antioc
Seems to me the young lady simply struck reality. Everything she said is true - she probably wasn't warned beforehand and is experiencing a little culture shock. I find things back home way too expensive sometimes. When home my house cleaner costs me $25 per hour cash, otherwise I do it myself because that is how it is in our culture. Thai culture is, as many have stated, inclusive of almost the whole community, especially family. Finding yourself alone with your husband, probably much older, is also daunting, she obviously expected it to be much different. My wife is University educated, never mixed with Farangs prior to our marriage, owned her own house, car and motorcycle - she treats me like a king and does all her own housework, expects enough to cover the costs and a few luxuries, and gives her aged mother 1,000 Bht per month. I have absolutely no complaints. Life here is not much different to back home if you take out the culture. The women expect the same things everywhere, some relationships last while others fail. Same here in Thailand - I have just visited a farmer who's wife is a retired school teacher, they have been together all their lives. Down our street are several women who have been abandoned for a younger lady - no different back home where up to 30 to 40 % of people end up divorced and lose almost everything. Judging by the usual comments from the usual group of negative posters it would seem that they have rarely experienced success. Many of the characters I have met over time here have few social skills, are way overweight, have barely enough income to get by and are void of general knowledge - I repeat, many - not all. I have met some fantastic people from various countries, people who have decided that they still have life in them yet. I admire them for their boldness, their acceptance of Thai people and their culture, and their willingness to accept that they are visitors in a foreign land. 2
