Farang two dot zero
I am looking for the best public hospital in Phuket for an appointment with a gynecologist for my girlfiend !
sebastion
Mission hospital is the best public one. Vachira is probably the worst. I don't know of any other ones. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
DrDave
By "public hospital", I assume the OP is referring to government hospitals. This would include Patong, Thalang, Phuket and Vachira hospitals. Mission Hospital is a private hospital, although a step down in terms of pricing and amenities from the BDMS-operated hospitals. Yes, but strangely enough Mission is an option for the social security hospitals.

I had a bad experience in Patong Hospital when it was the old hospital. Had a nail rip my scalp. Needed a few stitches. The nurse seemed to have no idea. Just 3 months ago I had a fall when working about the gardens. Hit the brick path, knocked myself out, blood gushing from eye brow. My wife was within sight and called the Patong ambulance (we in Patong). The ambulance came quickly, very professional, off the ER, again the best of treatment. 2 nurses and lady doctor. one side administering injection, other side nurse put in 5 stitches. I did not feel a thing, mind you I was still in shock. Doctor advise skull x-ray so off there. All done and dusted in about 90 minutes. Cost less than 4,000 baht. I now have full confidence in Patong ER. Edit - had to pay cash as public hospital not take BUPA. Made claim to BUPA and eventually got a full reimbursement. LivinginKata
That 8,500 baht package deal at BH is a great deal. First class all the way. Have you checked the International Hospital. These days the same management as BP but I find IH just a bit cheaper.

I know it is the same ownership, but afaik the management as different, as is their pricing.
Old Croc
Semantics. Siriroj is owned by the BDMS company and managed by their board, In -hospital management is separate from BHP. The board would make pricing decisions, probably want to keep it as a slightly cheaper alternative to the flagship BHP. 2

schlog
Mission hospital is the fastest and cheapest solution of all hospitals for any kind of blood checks. I do regularily my checks there. In and out under 10 minutes with no waiting time and price about 70% cheaper then BPH.

BHP processes most tests in less than an hour and the doctors can then decide on any action required while you're still there. I usually have a coffee while waiting. No need to go back later. Results i pick up 2-3 days later. 5-10 minutes i need for walk inside, go directly to laboratory, let them take my blood and pay at the cashier, back to the car. I only do regular blood checks there for which i need no doctor. If need a doctor i also always go to BHP.

Chainsaw
I had a complete check up (blood, urine, ECG, BP, chest xray plus weight, height and waist measurement check.) at Vachira 2 days ago (Monday). I was expecting a long boring day but was pleasantly surprised to find that the check up department has been relocated to the new wing with everything in the one place. All modern equipment and good English spoken. In and out within 2 hours. Total cost 4100 baht.
