Hi all my first post here so go easy on me.

I arrive in Thailand on 27th June this year and need to stay in the region for 6 and half months to the middle of January 2008. The reason for this is one of my friends in getting married just after xmas/new year and I want to be there until the end of the celebrations and all the other guests have gone home.

Ideally I want to spend 2/3 months in Thailand upon my arrival and then I wish to visit Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam (can anyone tell me how long it would take to do the usual route through these 3 countries seeing most of the sights etc??) When I have visited these 3 countries I wish to return to Thailand and stay there until the middle of January.

I am looking at applying for a multiple entry tourist visa but was wondering what the chances of me getting one are? Is it best to apply for a double entry or could i get a triple with no extra problems?

Can anyone work out if I can spread this out without having to make any visa runs while in Thailand?

I will have an onward ticket to Singapore and Australia when It comes to leaving the country.

Thanks in advance

Rob

I would just get a single entry tourist visa and extend the 60 days to 90 at immigration - do your country circuit using visa free entry if transiting Thailand between them and before final return for 2 months or so obtain a tourist visa in Laos or Vietnam.

I wasnt going to be transiting thailand between the other 3 countries, was going to move from one to the other.

Do I need visa for these countries too?

Yes you are going to have to have a visa for those countries. So if you do not plan to return to Thailand during your visits then a two entry tourist visa for Thailand would make sense. Use first entry on arrival and second on return from travels.

Hi Treborz, you can get visa on arrival for Laos and Cambodia but not at all entry points. My opinion is that seeing you are in Thailand for 2 or 3 Months first is that you get all your visas in Thailand before you go, just take a couple days out of your schedule and get the visas.

For Laos visa on arrival CLICK HERE

For Cambodia CLICK HERE

And for Vietnam info CLICK HERE

Hope that helps.

You could save yourself a lot of time and hassle by applying for a Cambodian evisa. It's $5 more but it depends whether you think a morning(and the return visit) at the Cambodian embassy or the VOE is worth that! Anyway, we found it was a really worthwhile way of doing it. We just came back and had no problems with it at Siem Reap. You need to have a photo in digital format to upload and a credit card.

I wonder when Thailand might have such a thing...
