Sophon Cable TV reported that two men who stole an iPhone from a Russian tourist outside Pattaya police station this morning were quickly arrested.

The news media said it was "yeuy" or "taking the Mickey" to try theft directly outside the station.

It was before 6am when Russian Sergei Borunov, 27, was resting on the beach after a night out. Two men on a motorbike stopped behind him. While one stayed on the bike the other grabbed his phone worth 25,000 baht.

Sergei tried to grab them but they got away. He then crossed the road to tell the cops who swung into action checking CCTV.

In next to no time the miscreants were rounded up about five kilometers away at a checkpoint outside Makro.

They were named as Jakkrit Daolo, 20, and his sidekick Dao, 16. They were in possession of the phone.

Resting on the beach 6 am after a night out = sleep on the beach

He wasn't sleeping; he was just resting his eyes.

I wasn't there and don't know the Russian man involved. Were you or do you know him?

Ahh, reason #328 to avoid male teens like the black plague.

Looks pretty dark to be 6am .

This story just shows that many good cops will assist tourists here when something like this happens , even at night.  Good job catching them .
