As title of thread. Has anyone managed to get one of these as a retiree on a Non Imm 'O' or an 'OA'? No Thai spouse and no company.

Which documents did you provide?

This is the list from BKK Air:

• Birth Certificate copy ( For children under the age of 7) or

• National Identification Card or

• Valid Passport (with a secondary form of documentation showing a valid island address) or

• Student Identification Card or

• Residence Registration of the applicant or parent or

• Marriage Registration certificate with an island resident or

• Land or Property Title Deed or

• Ordained Buddhist Monk Identification Card or

• Medical Services Employee Certification showing the hospital or provider’s address or

• Employee Certification, Work Permit (minimum of 6 months old from the date of application) and Company Registration Certification (maximum of 20 employees per company) effective from 1 January 2022 onwards

• Application fee THB300

I am trying to think of No.3 which secondary form of identification might come with address shown. Internet invoice? Possible bank statement? Though I'm pretty sure they won't do this one from previous experience.

You are quoting the required documents list. I believe the "Applicant Qualifications" are the key determinant of who can apply.

Must be

• A Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao resident or

• A descendant or spouse of a resident of Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan, or Koh Tao whose name appears on the household registration certificate.

• An owner and holder of the title to the property or land on Koh Samui or Koh PhaNgan Koh Tao District.

• A hotel/business employee on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao*

• An owner of an operating business on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao

• A government official on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao

• A student at school, college or university on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao (Under Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education). And must NOT be Language School , Tutorial Programs and Nursery Schools.

• A practising monk at a temple on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao

• A medical service employee at a hospital on Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao

• Members possessing a valid Samui Resident Card prior to the commencement date of their signed Bangkok Airways employment contract, or a company directly associated with Bangkok Airways, can utilise the card’s privileges until its displayed expiry date.

Nothing there to suggest that a foreign retiree can apply, but if you have a lease or a rental contract, that should contain your Samui address, no?

If Thai Immigration accepts this for your TM30, 90-day report, etc., maybe Bangkok Airways will? How about a Certificate of Residence from Immigration themselves? It's not listed anywhere, though.

If you are registered in a house book — after which you can apply for a Thai ID-card — you are eligible for a Bangkok Airways resident card. You need official proof of being a Samui resident. I've been issued resident card as foreign retiree for several years by this documentation.
